As well as being at the heart of our golf, the impressive Clubhouse at Royal Blackheath is also an important social and corporate hub in its own right - whenever members and and their friends need a special place to get together. Throughout the year, our Clubhouse is available for private hire as a venue  for wedding celebrations, anniversary dinners, birthday lunches, private parties, company meetings and receptions. Formerly known as Eltham Lodge, this splendid mid-17th century mansion house, once described as 'a gem of Restoration architecture', was built in 1664 to the design of Hugh May for John Shaw, banker to King Charles II. It's a gift to photographers, both professional and amateur, and provides the perfect backdrop for any wedding album. Today, thoughtfully refurbished to meet the many demands of the 21st century, the clubhouse still retains its unique character, especially evident in its elegant staircase, original ceilings, fireplaces and pictures. All this, set in 110 acres of landscaped parkland of immense natural beauty, it makes a superbly appealing and original location, whatever the occasion.
