How to Join

If you do not know any members

A common misconception is that a club with such history and tradition is always full and impossible to join, particularly if you are not known to a few members. This is not true since we have a special arrangement to introduce applicants to the club and its members.

If you would like to apply for membership of Royal Blackheath but do not know any members please write, e-mail, or call the Secretary on 020 8850 1795.  If joining as a couple there is a 50% discount on the Joining Fee for the second applicant

If you are known to a member

Simply fill in an application form that can be downloaded from this page or obtained from the Office.  Then get your Proposer and Seconder to sign the form before sending to the Office.

Our procedure is then for the Chairman of Membership to meet with you and introduce you to other members, usually arranging a friendly game to allow you to 'get a feel' for the Club.  All applicants then meet with the Captain before their candidacy is considered by the Committee.  Spouses or civil partners of a member are eligible for a discount on the joining fee.

Join now and pay no subscription in your first year*, just the entrance fee.

* This membership offer applies from 1st January 2012 until further notice. No subscription to be paid within your first 12 months membership. The subscription year runs from 1st June to 31st May.

Membership Categories

Full Members Seven days unrestricted play, age 18 and over

7 Day Restricted Members May play golf at any time except before noon on weekends and public holidays.

5 Day Members Playing golf is restricted to Mondays to Fridays.

Country Members Must not reside within 75 miles of the Club. No restriction on playing golf, other than main competitions.

Overseas Members Must be both currently resident and in full playing membership of a recognised Golf Club outside the UK.  Category only available to existing members who are transferred abroad.

Junior Members Aged up to 12 and 12 to 17. May play golf at any time except before noon on weekends and public holidays.

Associate Members Must be serving members of the Armed Forces or business people transferred to London for a period not exceeding three years.  Full playing rights.

House Members May use all of the Club's facilities, including the putting green, but must pay a full green fee when playing golf. House members may also use bars, restaurant and take advantage of functions and hire facilities.

Joining Entrance Fees and Subscriptions as at 1 June 2011

* No entry fee at 18, however liability is deferred until 23. Years of membership up to that age are considered and a 10% discount for each year will be given. For example, if junior members joined at 13 this can give 100% discount on entry fee.
