Welcome to The London Putting Academy and Custom Fit Centre at Royal Blackheath GC.

The London Putting Academy is a state of the art putting and putter custom fit studio designed to ensure every golfer who is serious about improving their score can do so.

The Academy uses the Quintic Ball roll software that accurately measures the roll of the golf ball and identifies bounce and skid (which are highly detrimental to holing putts!) as well as side spin, speed and the putter loft at impact. This allows us to accurately identify the faults within your technique and quickly improve them.

We also use lasers to measure your aim, cameras filming your stroke from 4 different angles, numerous training aids and a green that at over 20 on the stimp meter is faster than the greens at Augusta!

Combined with the technology we teach the techniques employed by the worlds greatest golfers that are sure to benefit your game. Lesson Prices:

2 hour session - £110

We recommend a 2 hour session as the ideal for a first time visitor to the London Putting Academy and following your initial 2 hour session shorter sessions are available. Below is an outline of what you can expect from your 2 hour session:

• Evaluation of current putting ability to give us a baseline
• 3 camera capture of your stroke and ball roll using Quintic Ball Roll software
• Data evaluation. From the data we will devise a plan for improvement
• Custom fitting. We will ensure that your putter is suitable to you for style, length, lie angle, loft and grip style and thickness
• Practical application of your improvements including use of drills and training aids
• Re capture data to evaluate performance. Swing and ball roll will be re captured to see the improvement
• Data to take away with you. We will give you a cd which will include your before and after stroke capture, before and after ball roll, your putters ideal specifications and video’s showing you how to practise the appropriate drills to ensure your improvement is not only quick but long lasting

Follow Up sessions: £50

• 1 hour long 
• Stroke and ball roll capture to see how your initial lesson has been of benefit 
• Technical work where needed 
• Re evaluate and plan for the future

Fitting session: £25

Lasts 1 hour and includes: 

• Stroke and ball roll capture with your current putter 
• Analysis of results 
• Customisation of current putter/recommendation of a putter that will compliment your stroke
• Re evaluation using the ball roll software so you can see the improvement

Above is an example of the ideal ball roll captured using the Quintic Ball Roll software. You can see there is little side spin, forward rotation is achieved immediately, true roll (one complete rotation of the ball) is within a good distance and the launch angle is ideal.

Group clinics: £60 per person

A great way to learn with friends. A group clinic for 2 or 3 golfers includes:

• Evaluation of current putting ability to give us a baseline

• Custom fitting. We will ensure that your putter is suitable to you for style, length, lie angle, loft and grip style and thickness

• For 2 people, the clinic will last 2 hours, for 3 people 3 hours.
• Larger groups and full day clinics including lunch available upon request

Putting Year: £300

A year’s worth of putting improvement! Ideal for any golfer who understands the importance of putting performance and the effect this area of the game has on your scores. You will receive: 2 hour initial session including:

• Evaluation of current putting ability to give us a baseline of your current ability
• 3 camera capture of your stroke and ball roll using Quintic Ball Roll software
• Data evaluation. From the data we will devise a plan for improvement
• Custom fitting. We will ensure that your putter is suitable to you for style, length, lie angle, loft and grip style and thickness
• Practical application of your improvements including use of drills and training aids
• Re capture data to evaluate performance. Swing and ball roll will be re captured to see the improvement
• Data to take away with you. We will give you a cd which will include your before and after stroke capture, before and after ball roll, your putters ideal specifications and video’s showing you how to practise the appropriate drills to ensure your improvement is not only quick but long lasting
• 1 month check up – a 1 hour check up 1 month after your original session to ensure you are on the right lines
• Bi monthly check up sessions – a session every other month for the rest of the year to give you the confidence to hole even the toughest putts under pressure

Total Putting package: £350

The total package for any golfer who wants to improve their putting and ideal as a present! The total putting package will be a 2 hour session that includes:

• a new custom fitted putter of your choice from Ping, Scotty Cameron, YES!, Gel Hurrion series
• GEL putting mirror
• Evaluation of current putting ability to give us a baseline
• 3 camera capture of your stroke and ball roll using Quintic Ball Roll software
• Data evaluation. From the data we will devise a plan for improvement
• Practical application of your improvements including use of drills and training aids
• Re capture data to evaluate performance. Swing and ball roll will be re captured to see the improvement
• Data to take away with you. We will give you a cd which will include your before and after stroke capture, before and after ball roll, your putters ideal specifications and video’s showing you how to practise the appropriate drills to ensure your improvement is not only quick but long lasting
