Matthew Johns - Head Professional
Matthew has been the Head Professional at Royal Blackheath Golf Club since February 2008 but his time at Royal Blackheath stretches back to February 2003 when he joined as the Head Assistant Professional. Having qualified as a PGA Professional in 2003 Matthew has taught players of all abilityies, from complete beginners to club champions, and all ages as well as conducting clinics for Corporate events and running weekly coaching programmes for local schools. Matthew is a contributor to PGA website's instructional articles and has been selected to coach Kents up and coming junior golfers as part of the Club and Coach scheme. Matthew was recently selcted by Titleist to spend the day learning from Pete Cowen, coach to many of Europe's finest golfers such as Henrik Stenson, to further enahnce his knowledge of the golf swing and how tournament players approach their games.
Christopher Brown - Assistant Professional
Christopher was a former member of Royal Blackheath before turning professional in 2004 after graduating from Lincoln University with a degree in Golf and Leisure management. In 2006 he became a fully qualified professional completing the PGA foundation degree in 2 years on the Graduate Fast Track process. Christopher coaches a wide range of members and non members, with a wide handicap range from beginners to established single figure golfers. He specialises in coaching many members of the ladies section and their successful Pearson Trophy team. Junior coaching is also a big part of Chris' schedule with junior academy classes and Colfes school coaching. During lessons Christopher has a teaching style that treats everybody as an individual, as he builds swings around the pupils strengths, giving them an understanding of the improvements they are trying to make that will benefit there scores.
Christopher Aked - Assistant Professional
Christopher Aked qualified through the PGA Foundation degree in May 2007. Christopher coaches a wide spectrum of golfing abilties, and has had numerous sucesses with dedicated golfers who have increased their enjoyment of the game. His holistic approach incorporates the use of high speed video analysis to help you achieve your goals quicker. Taking an active role in junior coaching at Royal Blackheath, Christopher conducts many weekend and school holiday coaching sessions. Having spent 5 years here at Royal Blackheath, Christopher represents the club in the professional tournaments in the South of England and competes in many Pro AMs alongside Royal Blackheath members.
